ANNOUNCEMENT
Mandatory PPE
VICTORIA
JUNE 25, 2024
Updated statistics from Safe Work Australia show the incidence rate for serious claims in the construction industry remains a significant concern. At 16.9 claims per 1,000 workers, it is well above the national average of 10.5 claims per 1,000 workers.
Incidents on-site not only compromise the safety of our workers, which is the most important factor above all, it also comes along with significant involvement and effort from relevant parties such as Safety Officers, Builders, Safe Work, Racking Suppliers, Racking Contractors, and others to ensure we are correctly assessing risks and mitigating hazards to protect our workers.
Taking a step ahead of the safety standards in the racking industry, we have implemented mandatory PPE and task-related PPE across all sites as follows:
Mandatory PPE:
- Helmet, High Vis, Steel Cap Boots, Long Trousers (shorts are no longer allowed), and Cut Proof Gloves (workers are no longer allowed to work without them).
Mandatory Task-Related PPE:
- Eye protection, Dust Mask, Face Shield, and Hearing Protection.
With this initiative, we are not only aiming to save our clients from trouble but mainly hoping to reduce the rate of injuries on-site and protect our team so that everyone can go home safe.
