About the Role
What does a racking installer do?
As a racking installer at BORACK, you'll be responsible for installing and dismantling warehouse storage systems, including selective racking, cantilever systems, mezzanine floors, and safety accessories. You'll work as part of a professional team representing our clients on-site, following strict safety protocols and quality standards. The role involves physical work using tools, forklifts, and scissor lifts in warehouse environments.
Is this a full-time position?
BORACK offers casual positions with most weeks providing between three and five days of work, depending on project requirements. While we aim to offer as many hours as possible to our team members, the nature of the warehouse installation industry means weekly hours can vary based on your city and current projects.

You will learn the fundamentals of racking installation while focusing on basic tasks.

You will start working at heights using scissor lifts and handling more complex installation tasks.

You will be qualified to operate forklifts and handle material staging across the warehouse.
Installer Level 4
6 months
You will be one of the most experienced installers and start leading small teams within larger projects.
Leading Hand

You will independently lead small teams of up to three people on smaller projects and coordinate site setup on larger ones.

You will oversee entire projects, manage larger crews, and ensure projects meet quality, safety, and timeline requirements.

Compensation & Benefits
What are the salary rates?
Our hourly rate depends on your current level and ranges between $31–$44 AUD per hour. We also offer performance-based bonuses and opportunities for overtime on larger projects.
Important: Unlike most in the construction industry, we pay for your lunch break.

Where are the jobs located?
BORACK operates across three Australian states with local teams in:
• Melbourne, Victoria (headquarters)

Most work takes place in warehouses and industrial facilities throughout these metropolitan areas and surrounding regions.
Is having a car mandatory?
Having a reliable personal transport is not mandatory but highly recommended. The installation sites are typically in industrial areas with limited public transport access. You'll need to travel to various warehouse locations across your state, and having your own vehicle ensures punctuality and flexibility for early morning starts.
Visa & Working Rights
Can I extend my Working Holiday visa whilst working with BORACK?
BORACK work may qualify for specified work in WA under the Working Holiday Maker program, potentially allowing you to extend your visa. We can provide documentation of your employment in regional or specified industries where applicable. For specific visa advice, we recommend consulting with a migration agent.
Do you offer sponsor visas?
We support eligible team members with visa sponsorship opportunities for those who demonstrate strong performance and a commitment to long-term employment with BORACK. To qualify for a sponsorship opportunity, you’ll need to reach a team leader position.
Application Process
Do you hire people with no experience?
Yes, we welcome motivated individuals who are willing to learn. While 3 months of previous construction experience is desired, we provide comprehensive training for the right candidates. What matters most is your work ethic, safety consciousness, reliability, and positive attitude.
What are the requirements for this position?
If you’d like to join our team, make sure you meet the following requirements:
• A valid White Card and your own transport
• Full work rights in Australia and good English skills
• General construction experience and your own PPE
• Access to private transport is highly recommended
How does the application process work?

3. Trial Period – Successful candidates begin with a 3-day paid trial.
4. Onboarding – After passing the trial, you’ll start at Level 1 and get familiar with our processes.
5. Casual Work – Flexible hours for Levels 1–3 (averaging 30–40 hours per week).
6. Full-Time Contract – Available from Level 4 onwards.
What is a trial period?
A trial is a short-term paid work period (typically 3 days) where you work alongside our experienced team on actual projects. This allows both you and BORACK to assess whether the role is a good fit. You'll receive full training and support during this period.
What do I need for my trial?
• Valid White Card (Construction Induction Card)
• Steel-capped safety boots (AS/NZS 4602 compliant)
• Black long work trousers (no shorts)
• Orange High-visibility vest (AS/NZS 4602 compliant)
• White hard hat (AS/NZS 4602 compliant)
• Safety glasses (AS/NZS 4602 compliant)
• Cut-resistant gloves (EN388 rated)
• Hearing Protection (P2 rated minimum)
• Dust mask (P2 rated minimum)
How can I get a White Card?
A White Card (Construction Induction Card) is mandatory for all construction work in Australia. You can obtain one through:
• Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)
• TAFE institutions
• Private training providers
The course takes about 6 hours and covers basic construction safety.
